bunny!

#1 cutest easter pet:
sweet widdle baby bunny in in a widdle eggshell!
it's so cute i'm melting.

p. s. no offense at all to our rabbit snowball, who is the bunny.

chocodots

i invented chocodots. chocodots are large gumdrop-shaped chocolates, usually dark, sometimes with swirls of white or milk chocolates. i started making them for valentine's day, for my friends. i melt any kind of chocolate and put it in my special dot-shape silicone-base ice cube tray from target. i freeze the dots, pop them out, and pipe on the melted chocolate topping. i put it in the freezer and voila! chocodots!!
a tasty valentine's treat (or any time treat)!

lucky

official rules for lucky objects are here!
  • all buttons with 2 or 4 holes, and are also round, are lucky.
  • the exception for rule #1 is orange buttons.
  • red buttons with 4 holes are ranked 'most lucky overall.'
  • buttons with brand names are not lucky by themselves, but are lucky when strung together in a button chain.
  • polished stones are lucky.
  • buttons with 1 hole are not lucky.
  • buttons not used in sewing are unlucky.
  • buttons that are not round are extremely unlucky.
  • green, fresh, oval-shaped leaves are lucky.
  • small stuffed key chain objects are lucky, if you can remove the hook they are luckier.
  • if something is labeled 'lucky,' that object is lucky.
  • cute and small pets are lucky - i.e. teacup poodles, teacup bunnies, little chicks, baby mice, baby hamsters & guinea pigs
  • anything with the appearance of luckiness is lucky.
if you have any questions about the luckiness of a particular object, or any questions in general, write a comment please.

boxes

here's a craft that makes a magazine file and is made of ordinary cheerio boxes and fancy wrapping paper - it's that easy, and they're so useful!
you need:
  • sharp scissors
  • fancy wrapping paper that goes with the theme of your room
  • double-sided tape
  • a large cheerio (or joe's o's, the trader joe's brand) cereal box
what to do:
  1. make a mark about halfway up the side of the box.
  2. cut diagonally, starting at the mark and cutting to the other side's top,  so you have one tall narrow side and one short narrow side. now it should look like a magazine file.
  3. using double-sided tape, attach the wrapping paper to the outside and, if you want, inside of the cut box. now it should look pretty.
  4. fill up your box!

fish

right now i am in the process of improving my new blog. this includes the fish gadget.
look to the right to see lily the orange fish, lola the green fish, and laurence the red fish. they are hungry sometimes, so you can feed them by left-clicking the mouse inside the tank. when they eat, it makes a ripple. they like your computer mouse, and they follow it everywhere.
for installing this fish gadget, click 'design.' then go to layout. click 'add a gadget' anywhere you want. then click 'more gadgets.' scroll down to 'fish,' click the +,  and design your tank of sweet little fish!

blogonaut

dad's away, and mom and ander (that's my little brother) and i are skyping with him. mom's telling him all about my blog. she asks, "what do you call a person in the blogoshere?" dad responds, "a blogger." hmmmm. that doesn't have the same ring as "astronaut" or "aeronaut."
dad adds, "what about 'blogonaut?'"
taaaa-daaaa!! i'm a blogonaut!
hi to all the other blogonauts blogging on blogger! (try to say that three times fast!)

explanation

i'm happily looking at my new blog. but then i thought, "what a strange title. di's lucky button? i know what it means, but does anybody else know?"
well, i understand it, but this post will explain it to everyone else.
my friend se and i like to have "lucky things" and "unlucky things."
when someone is nervous, we offer them a lucky thing. we always avoid unlucky things. it's fun to do.
one classified lucky object is a button, as in the buttons with 1 hole and 2 holes and 4 holes (in order of luckiness, least to most). because my name is di, and i love lucky buttons (and i want my blog to be lucky), ta-da! di's lucky button!
i hope this explains my blog name.

p. s. my mom has a pretty unusual blog title, too. see here for the story.
